Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Offered for Free for the Entire July for Xbox Gold Subscribers, More Good Deals Revealed!

Premium subscriptions on the major console platforms have been known to be a good deal as a whole for a while, and Xbox One owners just got another good reason to stay subscribed to Xbox Gold – during the month of July, the program will offer two new games for free for all of its subscribers. The first is “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag”, and the other is “Plants vs Zombies”.

Both games will be available for free for different periods of time, and players who’ve subscribed to the console’s premium service can download and start playing them right away. It should be noted that “Assassin’s Creed” specifically is getting a longer period of availability than the other games that have been put up in the promotion.

Which is certainly not a bad offer, given the overall quality and popularity of the game, and it’s one of the more actively discussed titles on the market right now. The game did have some flaws on launch but it was received more or less well by the community, and it was a solid entry in the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise.

“Plants vs Zombies” is going to be available only up until July 15, so players who want to get their hands on the game should hurry. After that, it will go back to its original price of $14.99 for everyone. While it’s still not a bad deal by itself, it’s of course nowhere near close to getting the game completely for free.

After that deal is over, “Gears of War 3” will be available from July 16 to July 31. The game will also be made free, down from its original price of $19.99. It’s certainly not the newest game on the market and it’s been around for a while, but its popularity is unmatched – it’s still one of the hottest titles to come out on the platform.

Those who haven’t played it yet should definitely give it a try, although they would have to wait a couple of weeks for the deal to roll around. The game has more than a few hours of good gameplay packed in it though, so it’s definitely worth even its base price. But of course, patient players should just wait until July 16 when they’ll be able to get it for free.

Meanwhile, players interested in “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” will have access to the game during the entire month of July. It’s nearly two years old but still holds up nicely, and offers a nice gameplay experience for its fans. The game’s aging isn’t even that noticeable as Ubisoft managed to do a fantastic job with its graphics when it came out in 2013, and it still looks pretty good even today.

Considering that the game normally costs $29.99, it’s a fantastic deal for everyone, even players who haven’t tried the series before and aren’t that interested in it as a whole. With a “free” price tag, nobody could go wrong spending a few hours with the game. And, as most players have reported, those few hours usually end up stretching to the end of the game as it has a tendency to draw its players in very quickly.

All in all, it will be an exciting month for Xbox Gold subscribers, and it looks like Microsoft are stepping up their game with these free offers. Which, we guess, is good for everyone involved – it’s good for them as a business, and the extra competition is always good for players on the receiving end.
