Season 11 of the American fantasy horror TV series “Supernatural” is set to return to The CW network on October 7, but the internet is already abuzz with what the premier episode will turn out to be.
The premier episode will be titled “The Bad Seed” and it looks like it is referring to the femme fatale Amara who was summoned to earth when ‘The Darkness’ was unleashed during the series finale of Season 10, notes Realty Today.
Amara is described as somebody in her late 20s who possesses an acid tongue and seductive beauty, but the production are still mum on who will be the actress who shall take on the new villain character.
According to the International Business Times of UK, Amara will be new to earth and she will not be impressed with the place. However, that would not stop her from sticking around and wreaking havoc. She is set to recur throughout Season 11 of the series and the Winchester brothers, Sam, and Dean, will have to keep her in check when the show returns.
Filming updates
Actor Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, has recently posted on his Twitter account filming updates about “Supernatural” when he teased on June 24 that he is back on a plane and that he is coming to Season 11. It was reported that Ackles will be directing the premiere episode of “Supernatural.”
The series is being filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada and its surrounding areas. It was originally created by Eric Kripke who spent nearly 10 years in developing the series while in Canada. He also spent several years in pitching it unsuccessfully before The WB, which is the forerunner of The CW, picked it up and began airing it on September 13, 2005.
On June 25, executive producer Jim Michaels also posted on his Twitter account that the production team has been scouting for locations for “Supernatural.” One of his two tweets has the location of Burnaby in British Columbia, Canada.
Although there have been previous reports that Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam, will no longer be part of “Supernatural” Season 11, the actor quickly dismissed the rumors by saying he just needed some time to be with his family that is why he was missing conventions to promote the show. He expressed excitement nonetheless to go back to filming for the 11th season.
During the series finale of Season 10, Sam, Dean, Castiel, and Crowley were left in a predicament. The final episode is titled “My Brother’s Keeper” where the Winchester brothers were enveloped by Darkness even as the angel struggles to fend off Rowena’s guard dog spell that forced him to kill the King of Hell.
ComicCon participation
As part of its effort to promote and drumbeat the show to fans, CW has announced that the Winchester brothers Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will be joined by their “Supernatural” co-stars Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard as well as show’s executive producer Jeremy Carver during the series’ scheduled appearance at the ComicCon 2015 on July 11 at San Diego, California.
Reports say that the cast members will talk about the details of the complete Season 10 which will become available on DVD in September and also provide hints or spoilers for the upcoming Season 11 which would debut in October.
