It’s always funny to see stars from “Top Gear” going around in a more unusual mode of transportation, and we recently got to see Chris Evans riding around Notting Hill on an electric bike, instead of taking a car. While Jeremy Clarkson would surely have some comments to make about the situation, it was still in a very positive tone from Evans himself, who was carrying two large shopping bags on his handlebars.
Evans was apparently on a shopping trip when the media spotted him, and he had managed to achieve a perfect balance for his handlebar with the help of the bags, as he was headed on a trip around the capital. Even though he noticed the photographers, he didn’t show a smile to them, although he might have noticed them a bit too late.
However, it was more likely that he just didn’t want to be recognized, as he was wearing a pair of sunglasses, a helmet and a hooded jacket with a rather unremarkable color. It still didn’t take long for the media to notice him though, and it’s clear that stars like him are going to face trouble avoiding public recognition.
Some fans of “Top Gear” have been joking that Evans should get rid of the bike and start getting used to using larger vehicles at some point, as he is now going to take part in the new “Top Gear” episodes, replacing Jeremy Clarkson after the dramatic incident that occurred recently.
When it was revealed that he would be the new host, Chris Evans went on Twitter to express his gratefulness for getting the opportunity to interact with the show’s fans, and he was excited to make his first tweet as the new host of Top Gear. He also wanted to reassure his fans that he wasn’t leaving the “R2 Breakfast Show”, so he’ll likely be very busy in the coming months.
Currently, his contract with “Top Gear” is for three years, so we’ll be seeing him for some time. Of course, anything can happen as we saw with Jeremy Clarkson, and it’s still possible that some bizarre incident could result in the dismissal of the actor. But the scenario with Clarkson is likely going to make future hosts of the show even more careful with how they’re handling themselves, both on the stage and off of it. It was disappointing for many fans to see Clarkson being let go, but the show’s producers have made up their minds and “Top Gear” is now moving forward.
