Ever since she entered the adult film industry, actress Mia Khalifa has been surrounded by controversy. Initially, people from her own country were outraged by the fact that she performs in pornographic films, as the atmosphere there is a bit different and much more conservative. But on the other hand, Khalifa herself is no stranger to controversial comments and an attitude that quickly attracts attention, but not always of the positive kind.
Some time ago, she made a joke on her Instagram account which was apparently directed at Caitlyn Jenner. Jenner, who won the 1976 Olympic decathlon gold medal, got her new name recently after changing it from Bruce, along with her gender altogether. The photo which Khalifa used on her page was taken by a famous celebrity photographer, Annie Leibovitz.
However, Khalifa didn’t seem to have a very respectful attitude to the current struggle of Jenner, commenting on the picture with “My N**** Bruce went from paying $20 to get in the club to free before 11.30.” Of course, it’s clear that it was meant as a joke and not really in a very malicious way, but it’s still a joke that wasn’t very tasteful, and we can understand the huge amounts of negativity going around regarding Mia Khalifa because of her comment.
But then, Khalifa made another comment on the situation, saying “Beware of Decepticons, gentlemen!” – and that was the line that sparked true controversy in the end, with Khalifa being accused of transphobia. The comment quickly spread all over the Internet, and it managed to start some interesting discussions on a few forums.
And of course, it wasn’t long before people started attacking Khalifa on her own accounts, calling her all sorts of names and specifically pointing out her occupation in their attacks. It’s clear that there are lots of people who would be happy to share their negative thoughts about the actress. Even though the controversy about her ethnicity and acting seemed to have died down lately, it’s pretty obvious that it was because people got tired of commenting on the situation, not because they changed their minds.
Khalifa hasn’t responded to the current criticism about her posts, and knowing the actress, she likely isn’t going to make any serious comments about that anytime soon. If anything, we would expect her to add fuel to the fire and make even more provocational comments in the hope of attracting attention to her social media accounts. Some have speculated that her actions are done on purpose with the goal of attracting attention.
