Sia Chooses to Attend Calvin Klein After Party than the 2015 Much Video Music Awards in Canada

Calvin Klein and Sia have officially collaborated not on a new single or for a new piece of clothing, but as surprising guest at Calvin Klein’s seasonal after party in Milan, Italy. The 39-year old Australian singer was the special guest performer at the Calvin Klein after party held at the Fabrique Club in Milan on the night of June 21.

Apparently, she chose to party at Milan instead of attending the 2015 Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, Canada where she was nominated for the Most Buzzworthy International Artist or Group category to which she lost to Ed Sheeran.

Donning her iconic platinum blonde wig concealing her face and an enormous white hat, the singer-songwriter was in a Calvin Klein silky white suit collection and stunning red stilettos. She performed on stage with special renditions of her hit singles from her latest and sixth studio album “1,000 Forms of Fear” such as “Chandelier,” “Elastic Heart,” and “Big Girls Cry.” Other performers, like the international DJs from London’s Horse Meat Disco, were also present at the event and gave life to the party.

Earlier that day, Sia was also spotted striking a pose backstage with Italo Zuchelli, Calvin Klein Men’s creative director. Zuchelli was the man behind the brand’s Spring 2016 menswear collection fashion show. The exclusive event showcased a collection of over 40 various looks of menswear made with the brand’s effervescent designs and intricate details. After the event, Sia took to Twitter to express her gratitude to Milan, Calvin Klein, and Zuchelli for having her at the show.

Working with other artists

Also known for lending her singing voice in films, Sia’s ballad version of the 1965 Mama’s & Papa’s hit single “California Dreamin” was recently the talk of the town and almost everyone’s favorite addition to their playlists because of the artist’s take on the song. Her rendition was used in the disaster film “San Andreas” topbilled by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. She also rendered her voice to sing a pop version of “You’re Not Fully Dressed Without a Smile” in 2014’s remake of Annie.

Speaking of collaborations, Sia’s latest group effort is with rapper Travie McCoy. The former Gym Class Heroes frontman credited Sia as feature artist in his latest single “Golden,” even snagging Sia to appear in the single’s music video. McCoy tells ET Online that he and Sia go a long way back. They have written and recorded quite a few songs together and says working with the “Elastic Heart” singer feels like second nature to him. He adds they have a brotherly and sisterly vibe going on and hints “Golden” may not be their last collaboration.

Earlier this month, American Idol alum Katherine McPhee also revealed that Sia has worked on her upcoming album after her five-year hiatus. McPhee tells EW that she got in touch with the Australian singer and record-producer once she announced she wanted to write for pop artists. The pair reportedly wrote two songs together, one of which will be included in McPhee’s album “Hysteria” coming to stores on July 24.
