“Dance Moms” has definitely paved its way to Lifetime viewers. It has also been the avenue for uprising dancers like Maddie Ziegler who has become famous for appearing on Sia’s music videos. However, after five seasons with the show, the 12-year-old said she is not sure if she will continue to participate in the show.
In an interview with MTV Australia on June 19, Sia’s mini-me shared that they had just finished shooting the entire Season 5 for “Dance Moms.” When asked about her future in the show, she said she is uncertain if she is going to do it or not. It still depends, Maddie said.
Maddie has transitioned herself from being a reality superstar to an international performer. When she performed Sia’s “Chandelier,” her career boomed and she began performing for almost all of Sia’s shows. She became Sia’s front liner in her music videos. She became the face of Sia.
The “Elastic Heart” singer declared that she will not be showing her face to the public. Even though she has appeared in multiple local and international gigs showing her face, Sia noted that her international fame has gone up. With this kind of popularity, paparazzis are always everywhere. Sia said she wanted to be known for her music and not for how she looks like.
This somehow turned into Maddie’s advantage. Aside from being Sia’s apprentice, Maddie has appeared in other modeling gigs like Capezio, and many more.
But before Sia entered her life, Maddie has already been garnering much experience. In 2010, Maddie was just eight years old. Not minding her age, Paula Abdul saw her raw talent and recruited her to be a part of the reality television program “Live to Dance.” Unfortunately, the program was cancelled before it was even aired.
Maddie also ventured into acting. In 2013, she landed her first professional acting job as Young Deb in “Drop Dead Diva.” A year later, she appeared as a guest star in “Hit Streak Summer” Episode 34. This year, the 12-year-old star had a guesting on the Disney Channel series “Austin & Ally.” Then, she will be appearing on the popular series “Pretty Little Liars” on its June 30 episode.
Maddie admitted her love for acting to MTV. She said that she loves the craft and she has been working very hard auditioning for different acts. She said that it has been a rewarding experience for her to be a part of “Pretty Little Liars” since it was her favorite TV show. She said she did not really have lines on her cameo in the show but she would love to be involved in these types of shows.
Maddie added that she had really enjoyed her stay on the show. She got to meet one of the main cast members and the entire crew was just a fun group of people.
