The best football player in the world Cristiano Ronaldo does not just have a global fan base numbering to millions, he now has a galaxy which he can claim as ‘his own.’
A Portuguese lead astronomer recently discovered a new galaxy and in honor of his internationally recognized compatriot, he named the newest official addition to the universe as CR7, details the Sunday Express.
CR7 is the moniker that Cristiano Ronaldo got when he was still playing for Manchester United in the English Premier league. He has since transferred to Real Madrid and is now competing in the Spanish premier league La Liga BBVA.
When asked for comment on how his compatriot astronomer decided to name the new galaxy as CR7, the football superstar said that he was feeling over-the-moon for the universal honor that was given to him and he thanked his fellow Portuguese for it.
Head-to-head battle
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is going into another head-to-head battle but not in the football field but among the consumers of men’s perfume.
Ronaldo will be pitting himself against Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic currently playing for the French club Paris Saint – Germain F.C., in pitching their respective perfume brands not only to football fans but also to fashion and perfume enthusiasts.
The battle seems to be even at this point since both Cristiano and Zlatan are very talented football players and they both command a strong legion of fans, and both actually believe that each of them are the finest gift to masculinity alive today, reports the Mirror.
Pitting two of the biggest egos in the game of football and bringing it head-to-head in a perfume war are both appealing and wonderful for the fans of football and even those who are not into the game at all.
Breaking the news in social media
Zlatan and Cristiano recently announced that they are releasing new fragrances soon. It was actually the Swedish football striker who broke the news first when he posted on his Twitter on June 16 a sneak peak of the perfume that he has been working on for the past two years. He added that he is also very proud of his work on it and advised his followers to stay tuned.
As if not to be outdone, Cristiano also did the same in his Twitter account some two days later by posting that he will be releasing his very own fragrance this summer. He also assured his followers that it is going to be very exciting so they should also stay tuned for more news.
Zlatan might have been floored of the news that Cristiano is following his footstep on the perfume market but it would be interesting to see which of the fragrance will do well in the market once both have become available.
