Lucas Arrives with ‘Street Fighter’s’ Ryu and ‘Fire Emblem’s’ Roy on Super Smash Bros 4

After Mewtwo from “Pokemon,” Lucas from “Mother 3” and two more new characters have joined the roster of the fighting video game “Super Smash Bros 4” on Nintendo Wii U and 3DS via DLC.

“Super Smash Bros 4” is also known as “Super Smash Bros” on Wii U/3DS and it was released in November last year.

Ryu from “Street Fighter” and Roy from “Fire Emblem” are now available for download on the Nintendo gaming consoles along with Lucas who was reported to be coming to the fighting game in the last week of May.

Instead of just one, Nintendo surprised gamers of “Super Smash Bros” by simultaneously making available the three characters through DLC.

DLC is a new strategy for the “Super Smash Bros 4” of Nintendo and Lucas, Ryu, and Roy will just be the second, third, and fourth downloadable characters respectively, in the video game next only to Mewtwo.

The three will join other fighters in the video game that already include Mewtwo, Sakurai, Duck Hunt, Mega Man and many others.

The Verge reports that Roy and Lucas are available for $3.99 on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, or $4.99 for both game versions. Ryu, on the other hand, comes with the Suzaku Castle stage from Street Fighter, and is available for $5.99 on either gaming console or for $6.99 for both.

The site also disclosed that “Super Smash Bros will also get new Mii Fighter costumes soon from other video games like “Virtua Fighter,” “Tekken,” and “Animal Crossing.” The Dreamland stage from the original “Super Smash Bros” for Nintendo 64 will likewise return to the Wii U and 3DS along with a few tweaks.

Nintendo announcement

Masahiro Sakurai, creator of the fighting video game confirmed the arrival of the three new characters during a recent video presentation where the gaming also announced the return of the Nintendo World Championship as part of the Nintendo Direct event..

When Mewtwo was released to the “Super Smash Bros 4” DLC shop a few weeks ago, the pocket monster had a retail price of $4 a pop, or $5 if users wanted it for both the Wii U and 3DS.

Some gamers are actually looking forward to seeing Nintendo choosing to offer the two “Super Smash Bros 4” characters as a bundle.

The site also mentioned about the “Legacy Fighters” pack which would be good to gamers who are playing catch up. But overall, gamers would easily be convinced spending extra money for Mewtwo.

Financial rebound

Nintendo has also released last month Amiibo figurines, namely Marth, Ike, and Meta Knight, simultaneous with the official roll out of the Wave 4 of “Super Smash Bros 4.”
