However, she was also criticized for being too provocative at times especially when she wore the tiny two-piece bikini in her “Anaconda” video. Still, many people praised her for loving her body and being proud of it.
On the other hand, this infamous Nicki Minaj style was claimed to be a copycat from another voluptuous lady, Afrocandy. Afrocandy is one of the most popular US-based porn star who pursued claims about Nicki copying her style of dressing.
According to the porn star, she had this outfit that she has been planning to wear but she was still waiting to lose a couple of pounds before wearing it. Unfortunately, before she even got the chance to brag about this hot new wear, Nicki Minaj already appeared in public wearing that same dress. Afrocandy even posted the alleged copycat dress on her Instagram account where she mentioned that she really thinks Nicki is copying her style.
On a positive note, a fan called her to tell her not to complain about her weight and her tummy because her fans love her even though she has a big stomach.
She went on saying this fan message gave her a lot of confidence. She said she is going to stop worrying about her weight and just be proud to flaunt herself the way she is. So far, this claim has not reached Nicki’s team since she they have not sent out any response.
Meanwhile, Nicki is getting busy as she has lined up a couple of shows and projects for this year. On June 11, it was announced that Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the 2015 BET Awards this June. Now, there are speculations that Nicki is going to join the roster as well.
According to Vibe, Nicki will take the center stage for the awards show since she has been one of the top award winners during the BET Awards last year. Nicki won five awards last year including the BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist which she has already won for five consecutive years. For the record, she is already tied with Missy Elliott who has also won five times for the BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. In total, Nicki has eight BET awards.
Nicki has also been commissioned to join Madonna in her new video for “Bitch I’m Madonna.” This star-studded video could trump Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” since it will include big names like Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj. Madonna took to Instagram to announce this bombshell production. The iconic pop star said that the video is coming soon and they are just trying to make the video perfect for the fans. She also added that they are “hard werking bitches.”
