As the production of “Captain America: Civil War” continues, we’re getting some interesting reports about the film. Apparently, another Avenger might join the already impressive roster, as indicated by recent rumors. Some have even been joking that the film is starting to sound suspiciously like “Avengers 2.5”, and that could actually make a little sense considering that it’s going to have dramatic implications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
More specifically, Mark Ruffalo recently talked about the possibility of joining the cast, and even though the actor himself wasn’t sure if he’ll be making an appearance, Robert Downey Jr. chimed in to say that this is most likely happening. Of course, nothing has been confirmed officially so far and this is just random chatter between the stars at the moment, but it definitely does look like an interesting possibility.
So far, the cast of the film includes various popular names, such as Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Vision, Ant-Man, Black Panther and War Machine. A few Avengers are notably missing from the list, but it’s starting to look like those spots might actually get filled up by the time the film comes out.
And while there has been no official confirmation about Mark Ruffalo’s appearance in the movie, if Robert Downey Jr. sees it as a real possibility, then it’s likely happening indeed. After all, the actor likely wouldn’t talk about it so openly unless he had some actual information on his hands, but we can’t say anything without hearing the first official reports of course.
On the other hand, Marvel reportedly have no plans to give Ruffalo his own entire movie, at least not for now – but it might end up happening at some point in the future, especially if his popularity keeps rising. There is no doubt that the actor has certain qualities about him that attract the audience very easily, and Marvel would make a smart move by capitalizing on that in their future productions.
We will also get to see Agent 13 coming back, presented by Emily VanCamp, as well as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, and Crossbones. General Ross, played by William Hurt, will also be making an appearance, and Daniel Bruhl is apparently playing the role of Baron Zemo. Last but not least, we have Martin Freeman in the cast as well, but his specific role hasn’t been announced yet. And, as can be expected, fans have been talking about him a lot, discussing the possible roles that he could be given – but there are certainly many different possibilities so it’s not easy to tell right now.
