Star Wars: The Force Awakens May Shed Light on Story that Han Solo was Already Married Before He Met Princess Leia

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will have a tinge of intrigue thrown into its plotline as there are reports saying that Han Solo is already married even before he met Princess Leia.

Apparently, a new comic book from Marvel has come up with a tweak detailing that Solo is already a married man at the time he was romancing Princess Leia in “Star Wars 4” and “Star Wars 5: The Empire Strikes Back,” notes The Week.

The supposed twist is actually contained in the sixth issue of the new Marvel comic series where a woman called Sana Solo encounters Han with Princess Leia and introduces herself as Han’s wife.

Now, it is not clear if the upcoming movie, showing on worldwide theaters on December 18, 2015, will follow the supposed storyline of the relationship between Han and Leia but it would surely give fans a new sense of cynicism about the upcoming “Star Wars” movies.

Following these plot about the relationship between Han and Leia, there are also reports saying that the two will actually be estranged at the start of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” which actually lend credence to the report about the story of Han Solo being married already.

Considering that “Star Wars 6: The Return of the Jedi” shown in 1983 has 32 years of gap to fill in between prior to “Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens,” there sure are plenty of storylines to explore among the main characters of the film.

Han Solo’s daughter

Last month, actress Daisy Ridley gave a hint that her Rey character in the movie may actually be the daughter of Han Solo.

As to whether she is the daughter of the Han Solo with Princess Leia or his previous wife, that remains to be known in the movie.

The Week of UK recently focused on the character of British actress Daisy Ridley named Rey in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” following the star’s recent interview with Japanese television.

When she was asked about the role of family in the “Star Wars” movie series, Ridley was quoted as saying that she is not really sure how much information she can divulge because her character Rey is solitary. She said that if she talks further about her character, she might give a big clue to what or who she is.

Immediately after her comment during the interview, Ridley and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy simply laugh at the fact that the British actress did not say anything too revealing.

However, one website assumes that both Kennedy and Ridley appear to have hinted the fact that Rey is possibly a Solo, somehow confirming rumors that have been circulating online that she is the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia, two principal characters who fell in love with each other during the original trilogy.

Family twist

Lawrence Kasdan, writer of “The Empire Strikes Back” who has returned to write “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” was also asked the same question about the role of family in the movie franchise.

star wars 7

He revealed that he was actually the first to come up with one of the most famous family plot twists in cinematic history when he devised the relationship between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader based on what George Lucas told him during an off-hand remark.

  1. Just read that Coruscant gets blown up in Episode 7. That’s just a bit too much like the first movie if you ask me. Do they always have to repeat themselves. Can’t anyone think up new ideas. It’s all very boring.
