Ariana Grande Gets Positive Response for Her Feminist Post on Twitter!

Feminism tends to be a touchy subject in the world of celebrities, and often taking either side in the argument can lead to problems with a star’s popularity and their acceptance by various circles. Which is probably why most celebrities tend to avoid even touching this subject in most cases, or if they do, they do it carefully. On the other hand, we also have examples like Ariana Grande, who recently made a post on Twitter about feminism that has been getting a lot of attention.

In the post, Grande talked about her frustration with what seems to be important to her fans. The problem, according to the star, is that people have been obsessed with her break-up with Big Sean and her subsequent rumored relationship with Niall Horan. According to her, it’s not right that people seem to be so interested in her relationships above all else in her life, and she has been apparently getting very frustrated with this situation recently.

She added that she’s tired of living in a world where women are referred to as a man’s past, or their present/future property or possession, and wants people to realize that woman celebrities have just as much to offer the world with their personalities as their male counterparts. She was recently quoted for saying that she doesn’t want to be referred to as Big Sean’s ex or the girl of Niall Horan, as she only belongs to herself and no one else.

Going further, she talked about the obvious lack of balance in discussions involving sex, as men tend to be seen in a very different light with regards to their accomplishments in bed, while women are degraded for the very same reason. This is something that has been getting a lot of discussion lately, and for what it’s worth, Grande isn’t the first one to bring it up, but it’s good to see that it’s getting more attention in the public spotlight.

Many were expecting this to be a troublesome move for the star, leading to potential problems with her career, but she seems to be handling the situation fine and for the most part her post seems to have benefited her. People have been expressing their admiration for Grande for her ability to speak up so openly, and her post has been shared all over the Web.

She hasn’t made any further comments since writing that post, but we wouldn’t expect her to dig too deeply into that topic anymore now that she has shared her main views. On the other hand, we wouldn’t be surprised if she decides to respond to some of the popular comments on her post sooner or later.

  1. Good for her! If you have women in the entertainment business working their butts off, to entertain the public, then they should get more attention and respect for what they do, not “who they do!”

Its not like we’re talking about reality stars who are trying to be famous for not really doing anything at all, and still looking for attention. Your talking about people who work hard for their fans & consumers. Anyone who works hard wants that time and effort to be appreciated.

Robert Downey Jr., sits down to what’s suppose to be an interview about The Avengers movie that was just coming out. The person giving the interview starts trying to bring up personal issues that he and his family have had in the past. Most of which we already know about, he’s addressed them before. Robert tries to avoid those questions and move the conversation along. But the interviewer won’t let the personal go, and after making it clear that he’s not going to answer, Robert gets up to walk out. The walk-out was filmed, aired and talked about by others who agreed with Robert’s anger. Women don’t get that kind of support, in the same situations.

If people spend so much time on who their dating, breaking up with, and feuding with, when do you get down to business. Women who complain are labeled and called nasty names. Someone on another site said that Miss Grande should stop complaining, “Be glad that they’re talking about you for something!” Why should they have to settle for less than the respect that they deserve, for hard work in their field?

If the personal side of their lives is so much more important, then explain how Taylor Swift keeps getting arms full of awards at every award show. Explain how these women get nominated for those awards, or why those shows would even be happening, if no one cared about the work they did.

There are no awards for “BEST KISS GIVEN TO THE PREVIOUS BOYFRIEND!” Ariana has never been nominated for “BEST CELEBRITY FEUD” There are no award shows for that, so the media, and those who support tabloid gossip need to get back to business and support those hard working women who entertain them!

GET BACK TO THE BUSINESS AT HAND!
