Rockstar have been quite generous towards the “GTA 5” community, actively developing the game’s online component and introducing new features for players to explore and mess around with. The next major update for the multiplayer of “GTA 5” is going to introduce various new goodies to the game, like new accessories, weapons and clothing which will expand the current range of content even further.
There will be eight vehicle wraps that have been inspired by high-end designers of Rockford Hills, and the studio has also added chrome-plated vehicles for players feeling a little more creative. All in all, it looks like car customization will become even more advanced in this update, something which has been received very well by the game’s community so far. After all, one of the things players love to do in “GTA 5” online is to show off their modified cars.
It should be noted that this update is subtitled “Part One”, which of course implies that we will see even more updates in a similar style in the future. Rockstar also released a teaser that the “Ill-Gotten Gains Social Club Event Weekend” will start on June 12, running for the whole weekend until June 14, giving players various opportunities for obtaining bonus RP, money and other goodies.
The studio previously teased the event in May, and it will be available on all five platforms that the game is available for. However, it might be one of the last updates released for last-gen consoles – the Xbox 360 and PS3 – as there have been rumors that Rockstar are planning to drop their support for these platforms in the future.
They have apparently been getting closer and closer to the limit of what these consoles can do with their hardware, and at some point the studio’s programmers won’t be able to pack everything they want in the next update that they’re releasing, making it impossible to keep the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game in line with the current updates.
This doesn’t mean that they will be excluded from all future updates completely, however – it’s still possible that the consoles might get access to the occasional smaller update if it fits within the studio’s development constraints, but fans shouldn’t rely on that too much and should start preparing for the idea that the updates for their platforms will soon stop.
The Rockstar Editor is already one example of a feature that won’t be made available for last-gen consoles and is exclusive to next-gen players, and there have been rumors that we might see more similar features in the near future as well.
