Fast and Furious is a famous movie franchise, and 2015 witnesses the release of the much-anticipated Fast and Furious 7. James Wan, who is famous as the director of ‘Saw,’ has been roped into direct Fast and Furious 7.
The cast and crew of Fast and Furious 7 have been very forthcoming about the film, sharing details and inside scoops. This has been a great publicity of sorts for the film as it helps in the piquing interest among the fans.
Wan has said that this has been one of his toughest directorial ventures. He has previously been associated with films with a low budget, while Fast and Furious 7 worked with a huge budget, but the whole process doesn’t change because of the numbers involved.
Wan has shared that Fast and Furious 7 will be a revenge thriller, on the lines of his previous venture, Death Sentence. There is speculation that the plot line of the two films might combine. Report has it that Kevin Bacon’s character from Death Sentence would feature in Fast and Furious 7. However, how much screen presence he will enjoy is still not revealed.
The Fast and Furious franchise made Vin Diesel a household name before Paul Walker took over the series, to give Vin time for his film, XXX. The third instalment saw Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto) making a cameo and then continuing. Fast and Furious 7, which will bring the series to a full circle is going to be the last film that Paul Walker worked in, before dying in a tragic car accident.
The film begins with Owen Shaw’s (Luke Evans) death. Shaw’s brother, Ian (Jason Statham) goes on a killing spree. Diesel’s Toretto realises Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner will be safe only with his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and their child. Toretto loves his friend enough to make sure he is safe by keeping him away from the action.
Fast and Furious 7 suffered a huge setback when Walker passed away in a car accident. The production process came to a standstill, and intense work was done on the script to change the plot about Brian O’Conner’s place in it. Walker had shot some of the scenes for the film. His brothers Caleb and Cody Walker were brought in to do the remaining scenes for Walker.
Since Paul Walker’s death in November, 2013, there has been much speculation that his character in Fast and Furious 7 will also have a tragic end, but Vin Diesel said that he believes O’Conner will have a happy ending.
