The other rumor indicates that Apple would be launching three flagship smartphones including the iPhone 6S, the iPhone 6S Plus, and the iPhone 6C.
In the third week of May, very revealing leaks on the iPhone 6C has pushed the second rumor further and gave it more solid footing than the first set of speculation.
Now it appears that the first rumor would not die down without a fight as there are current reports that Apple will indeed be rolling out the iPhone 7 banking on the major improvements it shall feature compared to the current flagship iPhone.
Apple’s smartphone launching history
Going back to how Apple started launching its iPhone after the second iteration, it has released an iPhone 3G, an iPhone 3GS, an iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S, an iPhone 5, an iPhone 5S, and an iPhone 6 along with an iPhone 6 Plus.
Banking on Apple’s launching history, the next iPhone would be an iPhone 6S. However, over the past two years, Apple has deviated from its smartphone launching pattern by releasing an iPhone 5C along with the iPhone 5S in 2013, and an iPhone 6 Plus alongside the iPhone 6 in 2014.
While Apple has yet to make an official statement or announcement on what it intends to call its next iPhone, everyone who is aware of the rumors know for sure that the American tech giant will be launching a more powerful and certainly better, specifications and features wise, iPhone compared to the iPhone 6.
Rumored features
Based on the latest rumors, the iPhone 7 shall feature Force Touch display which the American tech company used in the Apple Watch and its new MacBook.
But accordingly, it will be a bit different on the iPhone than the technology used in the Apple Watch and the new MacBook. Instead of measuring the pressure that the user puts on the screen to determine whether he is pressing or is merely tapping, in the next iPhone, it will actually detect the contact area of the user’s finger to make the distinction.
