If you want to be the best in the market, then beat the best that the market can offer. That appears to be the mantra of Samsung in releasing its flagship devices this year.
It obviously had a less-than-satisfactory year last year when its so-so flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S5, did not do well in the market resulting to three consecutive quarters of falling profits for the Korean tech giant.
Samsung made a gigantic rebound and redemption from its last year’s blunder with the launching in March and subsequent release to the market of its latest flagship smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in April, which are quite competitive with the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus released in September last year. Many users even describe Samsung’s current flagship smartphones as better than the latest iPhones.
Taking on the best
Now, it seems that the Korean company will be doing the same with the unravelling of its latest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 reportedly in June.
Its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S was rolled out to the retail markets in June last year so it is possible that Samsung could really release its latest tablet this June.
Apparently, Samsung recognizes that one of the best, if not the best tablet, in the market today is the Apple iPad Air 2. And that has been its lofty target with the design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, Samsung is directly aiming to compete head on with the Apple iPad Air 2 with its upcoming tablet and it is reportedly banking on the Galaxy Tab S2’s sleek design, super high resolution, and a possible inclusion of a fingerprint scanner inside the dedicated home button to battle it out with Apple’s flagship tablet.
Two variants
Apart from being thinner compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is rumored to come with a metallic frame, which has become the norm in Samsung these days following the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in March, which also featured metal uni-bodies.
There were reports that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will also compete directly with the Apple iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3 especially when word came out that the upcoming tablet from the Korean tech giant will have two variants – one will sport a 9.7-inch and the other an 8-inch screens.
