Samsung Galaxy S4 is among the five new Android devices to support Microsoft’s new Hyperlapse application whose beta version was just released to the Google Play Store last week.
The Hyperlapse app enables users to create beautiful time-lapse videos on Android devices with great ease, notes the Android Authority.
When it was first released, the Hyperlapse app was only compatible originally with a few Samsung devices, the Nexus 5, 6, and 9, the Sony Xperia Z3, and the HTC One M8 and M9.
With the update that was released on May 19, the new Microsoft app has gained support for other Android devices including OnePlus One, the Motorola Droid Turbo, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, and a few other devices.
Some three days later, the Redmondian company released another update, adding support for five more Android devices including the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, tablet, the Moto X 1st gen, the Moto G 1st Gen, and the Moto G 2nd gen.
Beta form
The Microsoft Hyperlapse app is still in beta form so it is currently on its testing phase. But if users would like to try it, they just need to do a couple of things to completely download and enjoy the app.
They must first join the Microsoft Hyperlapse Mobile for Android preview Google+ community. They can then check the site to become a tester. Subsequently, they can go to the Google Play Store to download the app.
It might take a while for the Play Store link to appear on the screen of the mobile device so users are advice to exercise great patience. Once the download is complete, they can start enjoying beautiful time-lapse videos.
Android 5.1 Lollipop on the Galaxy S4
When the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge were launched in March and subsequently released to the retail markets in April, both already had the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on board with free over-the-air update to Android 5.1 Lollipop, the firmware update launched by Google also in March.
Samsung is now preparing its other devices to take on the Android 5.1 Lollipop very soon. Some these devices include the Samsung Galaxy S4, its 2013 flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S5, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. But the roll out schedules would be dependent primarily on the plans or timetable of the US and international carriers.
Although most users of Samsung Galaxy S4, the Galaxy Note 4, and the Galaxy S5 are already using Android 5.0.1 Lollipop or Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for its mobile operating software, they are still complaining about issues and there is certainly more work to be done. They are actually expecting that Android 5.1 Lollipop would be the solution to their complaints.
