Consistent with reports late in April that the latest updates to the Android 5.0 Lollipop has started rolling out to Samsung devices almost every other week, the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop has trickled out early this week to the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 LTE in Switzerland.
Accordingly, the update runs the build number P905XXUABOD7 and is now coming to Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 LTE owners across Switzerland. It is expected to trickle out to the wider user base in the next couple of weeks, reports the Phone Arena.
It could be recalled that the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 LTE was launched in January this year and has competed head on with the likes of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and the Apple iPad Air 2. Both Microsoft and Apple will be launching update versions of their tablets later this year and it is likely that Samsung will follow suit early next year.
The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 LTE offers a number of bug fixes and feature enhancements particularly with regards to the overall look and feel of the UI, which has been modified as part of Google’s highly-touted Material Design initiative.
Keeping up-to-date
With the recent release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the Korean tech giant has also started rolling out updates to the Android 5.0 Lollipop on its mobile devices in order to ensure that they remain at par with the current flagship devices not only of Samsung but also those from the competition.
Instead of concentrating on the problematic Android 5.0 Lollipop however, Samsung is focusing its device updates based on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop which seems to be the general trend for all updates that have rolled out for Samsung smartphones in the last couple of weeks.
The latest Samsung device to have taken on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is the LTE variant of the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. The update on the device however is not worldwide but initially in Italy.
Nonetheless, Samsung is likely to make the update encompassing to include similar devices in different parts of the world. The company obviously wants to take it one step at a time. It can be noted that the company has been continuously pushing for Android 5.0.2 Lollipop updates on its devices almost every other week now.
Just a few days back, Samsung has also released the Android 5.0.2 updates to its Galaxy Alpha smartphones via over-the-air or OTA.
Better performance
The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update to the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 brings forth a refined user interface that still features the Material Design that the original Android 5.0 Lollipop came highly-touted with sometime in November last year.
But the new update also came with promised better performance because of a new ART run time, advanced control over notifications and several other tweaks and improvements to ensure better and satisfactory user experience.
I received 5.0.2 July 16 in the USA. It has taken this great tablet to another level. Very happy.
