With the Los Angeles Lakers hell-bent on getting the services of free agent Rajon Rondo, who has had his fair share of problems with his short stint with the Dallas Mavericks, it is likely that Jeremy Lin has already played his last game with the Showtime franchise last month.
He will be off to the free agency this summer and thus far, reports seem to indicate that he will have a field day at it since at least seven NBA teams are interested in getting his services.
Apparently, his two former teams the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors are interested in having him returned to their lineups. Although at this point, it looks very unlikely that the two teams would need Jeremy Lin considering how both teams are in the thick of their respective playoff campaigns. This could be the rumor portion of the report.
In addition to the Rockets and the Warriors, the five other teams reportedly eyeing to get the 26-year-old Asian-American point guard include the Philadelphia Sixers, the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Denver Nuggets and Brooklyn Nets.
Thus far, only the Denver Nuggets has made it to previous reports that the team was indeed interested in acquiring Jeremy Lin. There have been reports that the Nuggets are seriously considering tapping Mike D’Antoni to become the team’s new coach after firing Brian Shaw at the close of the regular season.
It can be recalled that D’Antoni was the coach of the New York Knicks when Jeremy Lin had his Linsanity Days. So their reunion in Denver could be a big possibility.
The Nuggets are also reportedly about to lose point guard Jameer Nelson and need somebody to fill the back-up slot for Ty Lawson.
Teams about to lose their guards
The other four teams in the running for the Harvard graduate are reportedly in the process of losing their grip on their respective point guards that they would need somebody to fill the position for it, reports Yibada.
The Detroit Pistons is reportedly in a difficult situation right now as it might lost its point guard Brandon Jennings to other teams comes the summer free agency.
The Charlotte Hornets are said to be letting go of Mo Williams during the off-season and would surely need someone who could fill the void.
The Brooklyn Nets may also be left without a starting point guard if Deron Williams decides to exercise his opt-out clause in his contract.
Jeremy Lin could certainly fill in the needed point guard slot for any of these teams should they make him an offer in the upcoming off-season.

He needs to go to a team that will let him be the number 1 option
