At 51 years old, Brad Pitt seems to be physically fit enough to even beat younger men to a fight, the way his character in “Fight Club” showed back then.
But apparently, the actor was no match for a flight of stars as he got recently injured after admitting that it was caused by his clumsy tumble up the stairs, details Yahoo! News.
As a result, Brad has been sporting a big gash under his eye which he gamely referred to as a ‘road rash.’ He was seen with his obvious injury when he attended the third annual Light Up the Blues concert in Los Angeles on April 25.
His presence during the event as well as his obvious injury right under his eye caused uproar among the crowd. But instead of getting ashamed about it, Brad Pitt took the opportunity to admit and explain the extremely awkward manner how he got injured.
Running up the steps in the dark
In a press release issued by his spokesperson, Brad Pitt explained that his injury is a result of him trying to run up the steps in the dark, with his arms full, and he was wearing flip flops.
He said that he just found out that if he tries to stop his forward momentum with his face, the result is road rash.
While the injury under his eye was still swelling when he came to concert, Brad Pitt was so determined to become part of the charity event, emceed by comedian Jack Black. Proceeds of the concert shall go to those people suffering from autism.
Brad Pitt said later on that he is not going to miss the Austism Speaks benefit the night after because he believes it is a wonderful event and he was so honored to have been part of the important event.
Extremely good time
The Hollywood A-list actor had a fabulous good time at the Light Up the Blues concert as he also bid on a guitar signed by the night’s performers that include Spencer Harte, Petra Haden, Nick Guzman, and Matt Savage. All four performers are suffering from autism.
Brad Pitt got the musical instrument during the bidding process by offering $23,000 on the musical instrument, a bid that was never answered by anyone else in the event.
The Light Up the Blues concert was held at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, California. Other than Brad Pitt, other celebrity guests during the concert included Christina Applegate, Gary Cole, and Amy Brenneman.
Just like his wife Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt is also very high on socio-civic work, especially on benefit events, shows, or concerts as it becomes opportunities for him and his wife to give something back to other people because they have been so blessed in their lives along with their six children.
