Is Joe Going to Be the Main Character of Mafia 3? Game Likely Confirmed by Voice Actor!

Rick Pasqualone, who voiced Vito Scaletta in the “Mafia” franchise, gave a hint a few months ago about “exciting news” coming soon. And while nothing concrete has come out of that yet, many fans took that as a hint that “Mafia 3” would be announce in the near future. We’re yet to see the sequel finding its way to the headlines, but the rumors about its announcement have been getting stronger and stronger. At this point, the game has been practically confirmed on the unofficial side, and everyone is just waiting for the developer/publisher to make an official comment.

Back in January when Pasqualone made the tweets in question, he also briefly interacted with some fans on the social media platform, and gave further hints that there might be a major “Mafia 3” announcement soon. Other than that however, we don’t know any details about the upcoming game, but there have been some prominent speculations about its plot which could make a lot of sense.

According to some rumors, Joe could become the main character of the new game, as some plot priorities will be shifted around. The ending of “Mafia II” left a lot of room for interesting continuations, and it was also designed in a way which practically guaranteed a sequel in the eyes of some fans.

After all, if there are no more games in the franchise after that, it would leave certain important plot points unresolved, and that might not be taken too well by die-hard fans of the franchise. Hopefully the game is actually in development and about to be announced soon, instead of leaving fans waiting for another few months.

It’s strange that nothing happened after the announcement by Rick Pasqualone, and fans have been trying to explain the situation in different ways. Some believe that he didn’t actually have any concrete information on the game, but was just making a guess based on something he had heard surrounding the production.

On the other hand, it’s also possible that he really did know that the game was being produced, but wasn’t supposed to reveal it just yet. In which case, he likely got contacted by the studio and told to stop discussing the situation publicly. This would make sense if the planned announcement of the game is still some time away, as spoiling it in advance like that could really have a detrimental effect to the way people receive the official revelation. An actor with the kind of experience like Rick Pasqualone has should probably understand this though, so the plausibility of this theory is not very clear.
