The 22-year-old “Love Me Harder” singer proved her voice has a great range when she recently made a rendition of Whitney Houston’s high-pitch ballad “I Have Nothing” that had the crowd quipping their oohs and aahs, reaffirming how great Ariana Grande really is as a singer.
“I Have Nothing” was originally featured on the soundtrack album for the movie “The Bodyguard” shown in 1992 starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. It was released in 1993.
Ariana Grande was born in 1993 which means that the song became a hit at about the time when she was born.
The song was written by great songwriter David Foster and Linda Thompson, his wife at that time.
A great accompaniment
Ariana delivered the rendition during a recent performance. She was actually sitting on top of a white piano when she introduced the person who would accompany her as she sings “I Have Nothing” which was no other than David Foster.
Upon introduction David Foster momentarily replaced the show’s pianist as he sits in front of the piano and starts playing the music.
Before singing, Ariana Grande explained that she just learned the song over at karaoke and videoke while she was young and that she was very elated to be given the opportunity to sing the song of the great Whitney Houston.
She also said that she is fortunate that she will be accompanied by an equally great musician in David Foster, who was met with huge applause from the crowd.

The performance of Ariana Grande was already posted on YouTube and it can be seen from the facial expression of David Foster while the 22-year-old singer delivers the high-pitch portion of the song that the songstress was really hitting the notes perfectly.
