Apple has been making the most popular handheld gadgets for the last 10 years. It started with the iPod Touch back in 2007 and has quickly grown too many releases of the iPod, iPhone, and the iPad. Apple rakes in millions of dollars with every single version of each of the devices every single year. Every year, Apple releases a brand-new iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad to consumers and every year they are reviewed in the top 3 devices in their categories. The next iPod Touch coming is reportedly going to be iPod Touch 6G.
Even though Apple has not said much about the 6th installment to the iPod Touch line, rumor mills have been producing details of the new device. There is no confirmation from Apple about the device, but speculation and rumor sites have been building the buzz for the last few months. The iPod Touch is still mentioned on Apple’s official website, but there is no confirmation that the iPod Touch will continue to be made. Recently, Apple released the brand-new Retina MacBook. In addition to details for the Apple Watch, but nothing has been mentioned about the iPod, leaving fans wondering if there will be a new model.
The 5th generation that is currently on the market was very popular and sold millions of units since it was released. With that being said, one could say the iPod is popular enough for Apple to continue producing. For the record, Apple has not confirmed that it will stop producing the iPod Touch anytime soon. According to some sources, the iPod Touch is not needed since iPhones and iPads already do many of the same functions. In another report from the same source, fans can expect the iPod Touch launched in September of this year.
Apple is typically quiet about newly released products until the last minute. And it would appear that is going to be the case with the next generation iPod Touch. According to fans that speculate the features, the new iPod Touch is going to come in 2 different sizes, a 4.7 inch model, and one that is a little bigger, measuring 5.5 inches. The measurements are the exact same as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+, respectively.
Other specs and features that have been speculated by fans include an 8 megapixel camera on the back side, the possibility of the A8 processor, a 32GB entry-level storage option, iOS 9 support and touch ID technology. Support for iOS 9 would be nice because Apple has not released it yet, but fans would like to have the support for when it is released so they can download and install it right away.
