HTC One M9 Plus to Roll Out with HTC One E9 and HTC One E9+ on April 8

Late last month, reports came out that HTC will be launching later this year a phablet sibling to the HTC One M9, which the Taiwanese company launched during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015.

The HTC One M9 will be rolling out to the retail markets this April. However, it turns out that the Taiwanese tech firm has another HTC One M9 variant in the offing, which it will be launching in an event in Beijing, China this coming April 8.

The idea of course is to have a complementary flagship smartphone to compete head on in the market with the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus as well as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

Leaked shots

The confirmation of the launching of the HTC One M9 Plus did not actually came from the Taiwanese tech firm directly but from leaked promo shots of the smartphone that comes with the words ‘Beijing, April 8, 2015, reports Click.

That’s in addition to the fact that HTC has been sending out for its April 8th event. Apparently, in addition to the HTC One M9 Plus, the company will also be launching the mid-range handsets HTC One E9 and HTC One E9+.

One of the promotional shots released on the website MyDrivers zeroed in on the home button of the two mid-range smartphones, which feature a fingerprint scanner. This feature can also be found on the HTC One M9 Plus.

Another promo image showed that the HTC One M9 Plus will feature a QHD display, well at least the poster indicate so since a mere picture cannot really distinguish if the screen exudes that attribute.

The last image of the HTC One M9 Plus showed that the handset sports a dual-tone color scheme and a metallic casing, which is actually consistent with the feature of the HTC One M9, indicating that it is also a premium smartphone.

The leaked images are unclear but since the HTC event is just days away, people will finally be able to see the new smartphones live and their features during the official launching.

Design features

The leaked images did not show the kind of power that HTC One M9 Plus will feature but if it is to be a complementary smartphone with the new flagship handset of the Taiwanese tech company, it is very likely come out similar to the latter.

The HTC One M9 features the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and has the distinctive top-and-tail stereo front speakers that deliver superb sound quality for a smartphone, due to its BoomSound. The device also supports Dolby Audio too. The battery life of the HTC One M9 is similar to the HTC One M8 although it drains rather quickly if users browse the web.
