Is the Absence of George R. R. Martin from the Writing Team for Game of Thrones Season 6 Going to Accelerate His Next Book’s Release

George R. R. Martin has been in the news a lot lately, but not so often in a positive light. The author’s fans are growing impatient waiting for the next installment in his current famous book series, and it seems like it’ll be a long wait still. It’s been reported that the book might not even make it for a 2015 release, much to the disappointment of all fans, but the author was firm in his stance that he wants to give the book as much polish as possible before pushing it out to the market.

It was recently announced that he has actually withdrawn from the writing team for “Game of Thrones”, the TV series based on his books, in order to concentrate on “Winds of Winter” more actively. This was received mostly warmly by the writer’s fans, who all seemed to agree that he needs this kind of break if he wants to ever finish the book in a realistic timeframe.

At the same time, people have been questioning whether or not this means there’s a chance to see the book coming out in 2015 after all. It’s hard to tell, as Martin hasn’t been very open regarding how much work exactly he has left on the book, but it’s presumably a lot. His publisher has similarly been quiet about the issue, and from what we’ve been able to tell, the publisher is actually not very clear on the potential release date for the book themselves.

Still, if George R. R. Martin doesn’t have to contribute to the script of the show, he should definitely be able to get the book done faster, and hopefully that won’t cause any clashes with the show’s actual script. Previously, we’ve heard reports of the writing crew for “Game of Thrones” contacting George R. R. Martin to discuss how they should advance the plot further, as they didn’t want to go against any major canon plot points.

Game of Thrones season 6

Now, it looks like this won’t happen, but as long as Martin has been clear on the major plot developments that are about to occur in the upcoming book, everything should be fine. The writers of the show should be able to adjust the season’s plot and wrap it around what’s happening in the book, and even if they make any creative modifications, they should still preserve the overall tone of the next book in the series. They’ve managed to do it quite well so far, so everyone has a lot of trust in them to continue the trend in the next season as well.
