Pop singer Katy Perry has admitted that she and John Mayer are officially off again as a couple. Early this week, John Mayer told an interview that he just does not see himself getting serious with the “Roar” singer because the emotional involvement is no longer there.
The interview on the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer came out just days after Katy Perry was reported to have already been dating Winston Marshall of the Mumford & Sons band in Berlin, Germany after their respective performances in the city.
It turns out that the supposed relationship with Winston Marshall was only meant to give John Mayer a dose of his own medicine.
A source close to the “Firework” singer said that Katy simply wanted to play John at his own game. When they agreed to get back together at the start of the year, John promised Katy that he is a changed man and that things would be different this time around. So she agreed to give him another chance, the source detailed.
However, rumors and reports of John Mayer’s philandering ways still continue. That’s when Katy decided that if John is not going to fully commit to their relationship, neither will she. So that’s when she started socializing with other men to make John realized how much he is losing in the process, added the insider.
John Mayer was actually sour-graping when he was interviewed early this week and it was meant more to cover his jealousy over reports that Katy is already seeing someone some place else.
It was not clear if Katy is planning to get back together again with John should he decides to woo her again but from what the source was telling, if John will come back ready to fully commit himself to Katy, then the “This is How We Do” singer may be convinced to give their relationship yet another go.
Ideal date
Now that she is single again, Katy Perry said that she is very easy to please as far as her dating preferences are concerned. She admits that she likes being wined and dined but she would love to have a romantic suitor who is willing to take her hiking on a date.
Katy said that her ideal date is so simple. She just likes connections, conversations, and jokes, during a recent interview. The singer is currently on a break for her Prismatic World Tour after partly completing the European leg of her concert tour last week.
She also said that she also likes watching a movie together on a date, preferably a documentary. Katy said that she is so easy to please when it comes to dating as she wants it to be simple and fun too.
However, if her suitor can afford it, she would also like to take an offer of hiking via a helicopter, the “Dark Horse” singer said in jest.
