While there have been reports in recent months that song diva Mariah Carey was feeling remorseful for deciding to divorce husband Nick Cannon in August and rumors were even hinting that she wants him back in her life, it looks like the “Always Be My Baby” singer has finally moved on from her failed marriage.
Apparently, the singer is now reportedly dating the reputable action film director Brett Ratner and their relationship is said to be moving towards the direction of getting serious.
Mariah split with “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon last year and formalized it by subsequently filing a divorce in August 2014. The estranged couple had three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe and they parted ways after six years of marriage.
The breakup stemmed from allegations that Nick Cannon was cheating on Mariah with Amber Rose, which both Nick and Amber later denied, averring that they were just on a business relationship and nothing more.
After the split, reports abound that Mariah admitted that she had her misgivings about filing the divorce and that she suddenly realized that she wanted Nick on her life back because he has been a hands-on father to their twins.
But Nick reportedly refused the offer of getting back together since he has already got back the freedom he once lost when he married Mariah. There were even reports that he also filed the divorce paper in December just to make sure that there will be no getting back together again with the 45-year-old diva.
Moving on
Now it is not just the 33-year-old Nick Cannon who has moved on from their failed marriage but Mariah as well.
More than just dating, Mariah is reportedly already engaged with Ratner, who has in his film credits “Hercules” and the “Rush Hour” movies featuring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, among many others.
A source close to the two said that their relationship has progressed in recent weeks and is now very serious, describing them actually as a hot couple. The two were said to be with each other when they celebrated their respective birthdays this March. Mariah turned 45 on March 27 while Brett became 46 on March 28.
In order to celebrate their recent birthdays, the pair have reportedly went on a Caribbean trip together on March 28 from Los Angeles via a private jet owned by Australian billionaire James Packer.
When they get to the Caribbean, the couple plans to sail around the islands onboard a $70 million super yacht named ‘Ultima III’ which features eight state rooms and a jacuzzi, notes Yahoo! News.
Either Mariah or Brett has yet to confirm their relationship and the going-ons between them and the last public image that had the two of them was a photo posted by Brett in his Instagram account on March 24. But there were three of them in the photo as Courtney Love was with them as they dined at Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood. Brett just captioned the post by saying that he loves the two ladies.
