Season 5 of the “The Walking Dead” would have its 90-minute series finale on AMC on March 29. But with two days to go before the airing of the final episode of the show, spoilers already abound on the internet as fans begin to camp in, anticipating perhaps a whirlwind and wild finish that the horror-drama series has been known for since 2011.
Fans of the show are always on alert as to who among the show’s main characters will be killed off in the final episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 5.
But if it’s any consolation to the loyal fans of “The Walking Dead,” the show does not have a history of killing off major characters in their series finale. But the show does make it clear that no character is safe on “The Walking Dead” and anyone can go anytime, notes the Inquisitr.
The series has proven this time and again when it killed off some of its past main characters including Shane, Lori, Andrea, Hershel, Beth, Tyreese, and just a few episodes back Noah, and some others too.
Character at risk
Latest leaks of the series finale of Season 5 indicate that the main character who would be at risk in the series finale is Glenn. Apparently, he will be shot in the shoulder by Nicholas as a result of a major confrontation.
In episode 14, it was Nicholas who was responsible for the death of Noah and Aiden but blamed Glenn for it when they arrived in Alexandria. Glenn had the perfect opportunity to exact revenge on the lying Nicholas by holding a gun into his head during the final episode of Season 5 but somehow did not pull the trigger.
But when Nicholas managed to turn the tables on Glenn, he did not hesitate in shooting Glenn. The good news is that the bullet only grazed Glenn’s shoulder and he would likely recover from the wound that the shot had inflicted on him.
Thus, Glenn is still safe for the fifth season and will be so for the next couple of episodes of Season 6. But for how long, nobody knows except the creators of “The Walking Dead.”
Daryl on the way out?
There have been rumors that Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, would be up next on the death list but considering how popular his character is in the series, it would really be foolhardy for the creators and writers to kill him off just like that. Daryl is obviously one of the big draws of “The Walking Dead.”
However, there are also reports that Daryl will come out big in Season 6 as a reaction of the creators to fan comments and requests asking that the character be given meaty scenes where his acting talents can be exploited to the fullest.
In episode 15, Daryl and Aaron went into a recruiting mission outside of Alexandria and discovered a female body that was not killed by walkers but somebody or a group who puts W on the faces of their victims. It would be interesting to find out how Daryl and Aaron would finally meet this group and put them also at risk during the series finale.
