After officially hitting its home market Taiwan less than two week ago, the highly-touted Asus ZenFone 2 has arrived in the Chinese market amid an expected warm reception.
However, the 5-inch base model of the Asus ZenFone 2 was not available and only the three 5.5-inch variants arrived in the Chinese market, cites GSM Arena.
The three models of the Asus ZenFone 2 that made it to China is the top-of-the-line variant that is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel processor, a 4GB or RAM and 64GB of internal storage through a microSD card. The retail price is set at $322.
The second model is the one that is being powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel processor with a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is priced at $273.
The third variant and the cheapest of them all at $210, is the smartphone that is also powered by a 1.8GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
When it hit the Chinese market, the Asus ZenFone 2 was also reflecting practically the same prices as when the device rolled out to its home market.
India is next
After Taiwan and China, the Asus ZenFone 2 will finally be launching on the Indian market very soon.
Asus actually took potshots at Chinese smartphone makers Xiaomi, OnePlus, and YU when it said that it will be launching its latest flagship smartphone in India without holding any so-called flash sales or invitations that the Chinese companies recently did in the Indian market, reports the Times of India.
The Taiwanese tech company hopes to make a big splash on the Indian market as much as it is currently doing in Taiwan and China, before it considers going to distant markets like Europe and the US.
Gaining a foothold in the Chinese and Indian markets shall spell big success for the Asus ZenFone 2 since the two countries are the world’s most populous nations and are considered real big markets.
Excellent features
The Asus ZenFone 2 has excellent features and performance, which goes well with its very competitive and quite affordable price, compared to the other smartphones of today.
The latest flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese tech company is believed to be loaded with the Android 5.0 Lollipop, with free upgrade to Android 5.1 Lollipop considering that Google has already released the firmware update early this month.
The Asus ZenFone 2 also has the 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is one of the most important features of some of the high-end flagship smartphones found in the market today.
As the key features of the other high-end smartphones are also highlighted in the next generation smartphone of the Taiwanese company, the Asus ZenFone 2 is expected to make a run for the honor in becoming the highest-selling smartphones in developing countries.
