Fans of Chris Wood Believe His Character Kai Will Still be Back in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 6!

With five episodes remaining before it wraps up its Season 6, American super-natural drama “The Vampire Diaries” is obviously building the excitement on the way to an exciting and ever suspenseful season finale airing on May 14 at the CW network.

Episode 17, titled “A Bird in a Gilded Cage” saw Kai, played by Chris Wood, being left behind by Damon, Elena and Bonnie in the prison world to die at the hands of an old vampire, recalls the India edition of the International Business Times.

It was actually Bonnie, played by Kat Graham, who left Kai behind in the 1903 prison world as sort of payback to the time when he also abandoned her in his prison world back in 1994. Before Kai left Bonnie back then, he stabbed her so that she would also die in prison.

Bonnie also gave Kai a dose of his own medicine when she also put the knife on his back before leaving him behind.

While the final shot of the last episode showed Kai about to die, many of his fans believe that the head of the Gemini Coven will still manage to survive his current predicament and get even with Bonnie or, as some suggest, proceed with their unorthodox love for each other.

Moving on

While there have been reports that Chris Wood’s Kai character has to be put to death already since the actor has already committed to play a new role in a new TV series from Julie Plec titled “Cordon,” it is likely that Kai would still be back.

After all, “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 has already finished filming several episodes in advance even before Chris Wood committed himself to another TV show.

But his character Kai will definitely be gone for Season 6. There have been hints however that Bonnie will actually be forced to return to the 1903 prison world to bring Kai back to Mystic Falls since the future of the Gemini Coven greatly depended on him plus the fact that he will be instrumental in saving Jo and her baby.

Like the ‘Delena’ loveteam in the series featuring Nina Dobrev, playing the role of Elena Gilbert, and Ian Somerhalder, playing the role of Damon Salvatore, “The Vampire Diaries” fanatics believe that the ‘Bonkai’ (for Bonnie and Kai) loveteam is really worth exploring in the series because of the unorthodox chemistry that they show.

Started with hate, ending in love

Like the beginning of the ‘Delena’ loveteam in the first few seasons of “The Vampire Diaries,” the two hated each other’s guts. Elena and Damon used to go at it with each other and Elena was even saying then that she would never fall for him. But eventually, she did over time and they have been together since.

Fans believe that Bonnie will warm up to Kai and they can start a special relationship based on that. They believe that Bonnie’s character in the series will also be almost useless in the event that Kai dies in the series.
