As part of promotional efforts to the upcoming stealth action-adventure video game “Dishonored 2” which is expected to be officially released later this year on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation Plus is making “Dishonored” free to its subscribers for the month of April.
“Dishonored” thus became the very first game for the free game lineup of PlayStation Plus since the PlayStation EU leaked the information in its official Twitter account last week, notes Christian Today.
It has also been reported early this month that game publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Arkane Studios may likely announce or launch the much-anticipated video game during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 to be held in June 16 to 18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
“Dishonored” was released in the PC, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360 in October 2012 and the sequel is likely to come out on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One after three years. So the possibility of an October release date of the video game to the market is also high but that is just speculation as of this time.
One of the major attributes of “Dishonored” is its distinct art style and it is likely that Arkane Studios will keep it with “Dishonored 2” to reinforce familiarity and game feel among gamers.
Familiar gameplay
Latest reports on “Dishonored 2” suggest that the upcoming video game will have the same gameplay as its predecessor particularly the role-playing elements like the capacity to level up the powers of the playable character and the non-linear consequences after each moral decision during the game. In fact, the player can complete it without killing any non-player characters.
That would actually suit gamers just fine as “Dishonored” is one of the most popular video game releases of 2012. Familiarity with gameplay will certainly work to the advantage of “Dishonored 2.”
“Dishonored” happened to have received the Best Action-Adventure Game for the 2012 Spike Game Video Award as well as the Best Game Award from the BAFTA in 2013. Both Arkane Studios and Bethesda are hoping that “Dishonored 2” will maintain the award-winning tradition set forth by its predecessor.
As a continuation of the first video game, “Dishonored 2” would likely have a game world that is a series of self-contained, mission-focused areas subject to all types and kinds of exploration in terms of in-game movement and powers.
The player will draw support from the central hub where he can meet his allies, get mission briefings and details, and convert his recovered loot into new equipment and upgrades. Missions can be hurdled through stealth, combat, or combination of both.
The gamer shall undertake a series of assassination missions in various ways, with an emphasis on player choice. Gameplay during missions vary in response to player’s violent actions or non-violent approaches.
