“The Incredibles 2” will most likely be released as a 3D movie next year and it is going to be a lot of fun, says a Pixar Animation Studios executive.
The sequel to the computer-animated comedy superhero film “The Incredibles” will come out some 12 years after the successful first movie was released to theaters in November 2004 by Walt Disney Pictures.
Josh Hollander, Pixar Animation Studios manager of the 3D elements in “The Incredibles,” confirmed that they are already working on “The Incredibles 2” and hinted that the sequel will be a lot of fun in 3D, cites Crossmap.
While he said that he is not aware yet of what the company’s release strategy for the movie would be, he explained that he finds it an interesting challenge to maximize the technology for “The Incredibles 2” considering that the first film was shown almost 11 years ago.
A good story first
Just like Pixar, Brad Bird, Director of “The Incredibles,” has yet to confirm the initial details and possible release date of the sequel. He is not even confirming if there is indeed a “The Incredibles 2.”
In a recent interview, Bird explained that Pixar does not look to movie sequels as a financial plan. He said that the company values its relationship with its audience more than the earnings it can make on the movies it is producing.
Bird said that if he can come up with a good story for “The Incredibles 2” which is better than the first film, he would be more than happy to return to the superhero world and take on the directing assignment for the sequel. But he wants to have a good story first.
Playing it coy
Maybe Brad Bird was just playing coy lest he lets out a mouthful about “The Incredibles 2” but there are already tons of internet news sites that have published the supposed storyline for the sequel.
Accordingly, in “The Incredibles 2,” Mr. and Mrs. Incredibles, featuring Bob and Helen, have decided not to be too active with their superhero crime fighting ways and allow their two teenage children Violet and Dash to do the work for them.
The two are now considered the greatest superhero in the world while their parents focus on rearing their now six-year-old younger brother Jack-Jack, whose super power ability is to change faces.
Unfortunately, unlike his superhero parents and his sister and brother, Jack-Jack cannot control his powers. His parents Bob and Helen have also become very protective of him following Jack-Jack’s kidnapping by a villain. Eventually, Jack-Jack became an outcast and a rebel.
It was during this time that Jack-Jack realized that he can only control his super power abilities if he is angry or becomes villainous. Unfortunately, it was another villain, which speculations say is to be known as Syndrome, who first saw these unique traits of Jack-Jack and he thus mentored him to become a great villain under his tutelage.
