The Terminator is not just protecting people, he is now lifting their spirits up in the best way he knows how.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former California governor, has showed up by surprise in Reddit, a public billboard, to boost the morale of a demoralized young weight lifter after experiencing a bad day at the gym.
The Austrian-born actor was a weightlifter himself when he was still younger and has in fact been honored as Mr. Olympia seven times during his weighlifting career before deciding to go into the movies.
Schwarzenegger’s latest cameo appearance in the popular public message board was prompted by a 19-year-old weightlifter who narrated that he fell while performing squats and he had to cut his gym session short as several critical gym-goers started laughing at him. The young weightlifter was carrying the name GnashBrowns in Reddit.
‘Commando’ to the rescue
One Reddit user read the post of GnashBrowns and decided to flag Schwarzenegger for help, knowing that the former California governor occasionally drops in at the public message board.
True enough, Schwarzenegger came to the rescue using his name GovSchwarzenegger on Reddit. The “Commando” star said that there is nothing to be ashamed of on the young power lifter’s efforts.
Schwarzenegger said that GnashBrowns should be proud that he was not afraid to fail. Because people can only fall so much and once they hit the ground, there is no other way for them but be back up. Failing and falling are nothing to be scared of, cites the original “Terminator.”
The former California governor lauded the courage of GnashBrowns for not giving up just as easily despite getting embarrassed. Schwarzenegger said that the young weightlifter could have made excuses not to walk into the door but still proceeded. Despite being uncomfortable with the situation, and feeling awkward, he still went on, and that’s a sign of great weightlifters, according to Arnie.
Rooting for him
Schwarzenegger also recalled how he lobbied for strongman Eddie “The Beast” Hall, who eventually broke a deadlift world record in Australia earlier this month.
Arnie said that the last guy whom he rooted for broke a world record in the deadlift. He said that GnashBrowns have more things in common with “The Beast” than he thinks, so he is also rooting for him too.
The “Commando” actor said that GnashBrowns took the first step and he fell. The good thing about it is that he fell in the right direction. He encouraged him to get back up and take the next step because moving forward from there is the only way to succeed.
GnashBrowns said that he felt very elated upon learning of the words of wisdom and advice of Schwarzenegger and he promised not to let down the “Terminator.”
The young weightlifter said that he was at a loss for words to the worthy advices of Schwarzenegger and admitted that those words from the former California governor brought him to tears. He said that he never felt empowered in his life and expressed his profuse gratitude to Schwarzenegger.
