What Happened in Grey’s Anatomy Season 11, Episode 16

Meredith is still at it in the latest episode of “Grey’s Anatomy”, and she’s trying to figure out if Derek is being unfaithful to her. Meanwhile, the staff at Grey-Sloane Memorial are kept very busy by serious trauma caused by a dramatic accident, leaving everyone rushing around frantically. But back to Meredith, her little current subplot started in the previous episode, when she tried calling Derek in D.C., but heard a woman’s voice on the other end of the line.

Now, she’s been continuing to call him, again to no avail – this time though, her calls are going straight to voicemail, she can’t even reach a person at all. Meredith is obviously getting quite a bit frustrated with the whole ordeal and is determined to find out what’s going on. She wakes up Alex in the break room, and starts explaining the situation to him, only to be interrupted by Dr. Pierce, her half-sister, who chimes in to say that she’s actually present and can hear everything.

Meredith ask both of them for their opinion on the situation, as she still can’t figure out whether Derek has been cheating on her. They’re both convinced that he’s not cheating and there’s something else going on, but at the same time they can’t explain the truth themselves.

The hospital is in a very difficult situation, as a car crash has left several people injured, including a pregnant woman, who at first appears to be fine. The driver of the car is an elderly person suffering from Alzheimer’s who wasn’t supposed to be driving in the first place. Following his surgery, he suddenly starts to regain his memory, as it’s revealed that his problem was related to a fluid build-up in his brain.

However, shortly after, the pregnant woman hit by his car dies, and while the doctors are at least able to save her baby, the person who hit her with his car is deeply distraught from the situation. He says that he wouldn’t want to remember having killed someone, so he refuses to continue his newfound treatment for Alzheimer’s, and instead opts to be put in a home.
