Despite rumors and major indications that they are already dating, 18-year-olds Austin Mahone and Becky G still refuse to confirm that they are a couple.
Both young singers may have already learned a lesson from the previous relationship of Austin with Camila Cabello of Fifth Harmony that going high-profile with their affair might have some negative implications on their respective careers.
In a recent interview with J-14 magazine, Becky G described Austin Mahone, who is regarded as ‘Baby Bieber’ for his uncanny resemblance to Justin Bieber, as super cute and good-looking. But she denied that there is something going on between them, cites Latin Post.
For his part, Austin Mahone also has not said anything official about his rumored affair with the “Shower” singer.
Letting his music do the talking
Instead of responding to rumors, Austin is allowing his music to simply do the talking on his behalf via his social media account.
He has been teasing fans with his music on his Instagram account. He first uploaded a video of himself singing lines from “Someone Like You” set against a backdrop of a candle-lit studio to depict a romantic setting. Subsequently, he posted another image on Instagram and simply wrote ‘another one.’
Austin’s song has the lyric that goes: ‘Cause you wrap me up with loving, I can see us start to,’ which many of his fans and those in the music industry to speculate that the young Mahone is alluding to Becky G.
Long-time friends
Even before they became very popular singers, Austin and Becky were long-time friends. Their common friends actually believe that they would make for a great couple someday.
A source close to both singers disclosed that Becky would be good and ideal for Austin since the “Excuse My Rude” singer is apparently super independent.
The insider explained that Becky is not the type of person who would simply be content of being called as anyone’s girlfriend. She is an independent-minded woman and she would be making sure that she would be on the same page with Austin, assuming already that they are dating, that they keep their relationship in private because she also wants to be recognized on her own.
The two singers are well aware that the high-profile relationship between Austin and Camila in the past has put too much public attention that doomed the affair.
The source revealed that when the relationship of Austin and Camila encountered some rough patch, Camila decided to make it official in a last-ditch attempt to save it.
Camila wanted the public to know while Austin wants to keep it low key. So when she announced that they were dating, Austin accused her of using him to sell albums. Camila got hurt and they parted ways.
It seems that it is not going to happen with Becky G since both singers want to keep their rumored relationship away from the public’s prying eyes and ears too.
