Apple’s Designer Fans Keep Releasing Concepts for iOS 9, Is the New Update Coming This Year

On the mobile front, Apple’s iOS and its future developments is, without doubt, one of the hottest topics right now. People are expecting quite a lot from the future updates to the operating system, especially after its most recent versions seemed to steer the development in directions that not many users had been asking for.

Along with the many cosmetic improvements that Apple have introduced to the system lately, there haven’t been that many big fixes or new feature additions, which has prompted some of Apple’s fans to question the direction which the company is moving in.

And while we’re waiting for Apple to announce iOS 9 and reveal what’s coming in the new operating system, some of the more enthusiastic designers among their fans have taken things into their own hands, and have come up with their own ideas for how iOS can be evolved further. Looking at one of the most popular recent iOS 9 concepts, Apple might actually benefit a little from taking some hints from the community.

A popular concept for the new operating system shows some interesting improvements to the iCloud service and its interface, and it also redesigns the Favorites tab which is shown during multitasking. In addition, we can see tweaks to the Usability mode, introduced in iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper, exciting concept if it didn’t come with some attractive visual improvements as well, and we can see the nee iOS 9 looking quite sharp in the made-up materials. It seems like more and more designers are jumping on board for the idea of flat visual designs, as this trend can be seen in the latest fan-made iOS 9 concepts too.

In the fictional iOS 9, users can also choose from attractive-looking wallpapers and complete wallpaper packs, and it’s obvious that the designer has put some thought into choosing the right combination of pictures for this purpose, as they all go together great.

Of course, as can be expected, Apple haven’t commented on the concept and haven’t even acknowledged it so far. However, Theodory, the design’s author, has been urging his fans to send the preview to Apple and encourage them to implement some of the designer’s changes in the next version of the operating system.

But in the end, even if Apple do like some of the ideas and want to implement them themselves, they would be put in a difficult spot if they acknowledged that publicly. It could have legal repercussions for them, which is why companies usually don’t tend to respond to fan-made ideas for their products. This, of course, doesn’t mean that Apple won’t like the design once they see it sooner or later.
