‘Winds of Winter’ May be Out As Early as October 2015

Book lovers and fans who have been waiting for the sixth book of critically-acclaimed author George R.R. Martin titled “Winds of Winter” of the epic fantasy novel “A Song of Fire and Ice” would be very happy to know that true to previous reports, writing of the novel has already been completed.

Last week, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jamie Lannister in the “Game of Thrones” TV series, in a recent interview, said he believes that George Martin has finished writing the sixth book of the epic fantasy series.

The “Game of Thrones” star also believes that the author already knows how he wants to end the novel. He also believes that Martin has yet to start writing the seventh and final book of the epic fantasy series.

It appears that Coster-Waldau was right on the money because Venture Capital Post also picked up the same information. But the even better news is that George Martin is planning to release the book as early as October this year.

This release date is actually way in advance of earlier projections hinting that the book may be launched next year.

With the nine-episode fifth season of the “Game of Thrones” TV series almost underway and Season 6 already confirmed, it may have put pressure on the author to release the book early so that fans could enjoy it before synopsis of the sixth season are revealed on the internet starting late this year.

“Game of Thrones” the TV series will start airing on HBO beginning on April 12, 2015.

Coming with another book

Reports also have it that when the “Winds of Winter” is released by October 2015, it may actually come out together with another book of Martin titled “A Knight of Seven Kingdoms.”

Apparently, the author is preoccupied writing this second book which would roll out along with “Winds of Winter” which he has already completed some months back.

The 1,000-page “Winds of Winter” appears to have been finished when George Martin was interviewed late last year and he was quoted as saying that he does not know the exact date when he can finish writing the book.

Some deviation

Fans of the George Martin epic fantasy book series and TV followers of “Game of Thrones” Season 5 should not be surprise that there will some deviation between the storylines and characters in the two media.

Martin said that the trajectory of characters in “Game of Thrones” will be quite different from his novels so it would not be like having seen the series is as good as having read the book.

Winds of Winter

There will be deviations he said so no one is safe in the TV series, alluding that any of the favorite characters on the show might face an unpleasant surprise, obviously referring to possible death. The book does not guarantee any characters from being alive for the TV series and that is the beauty of it all, says the author.
