Pressure is Now on Apple to Really Come Up with the iPod Touch 6th Generation

With the official release of the Apple Watch and the new Apple MacBook on March 9, only three products are expected to roll out from the side of the American tech giant this year. These are the rumored iPad Pro, the next iPhone which is likely to be the iPhone 6S, and the iPod Touch 6th Generation. Not unless Apple comes up with a surprise product anytime soon.

While there have been skepticism in the past whether or not Apple would still push through with its 6th generation of the iPod Touch considering that its video and media player function can already be done by the iPhones and the iPads, it is becoming clear that Apple will have to come out with it within the year to keep itself dynamic.

Apple has to release the iPod Touch 6 because it is one of the company’s signature devices in revolutionizing the global tech industry, notes Christian Today.

As previously reported, it is likely that the iPod Touch 6th Generation will come out in September, which will also be timed with the release of the next iPhone.

As for the iPad Pro, basing on the fact that Apple had its iPad event in October last year where it launched the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3, it is possible that the company may do the official roll out of the larger iPad in October 2015, to give its current iPad lines its one-year standard cycle.

The Apple iPod Touch 6 can actually be launched in any which way either in September or October since it can go well with the next iPhone or the larger iPad Pro, but the likelihood is that it will come with the iPhone 6s.

In the thick of development

If the leaked information and images of the next gen iPod Touch since last year are to be the basis, it is clear that Apple is in the thick of the development of the music and video player device.

Initial reports have it that the Apple iPod Touch 6th generation would come out in two variants – the 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch display screens. It will also come in five different colors including pink, red, blue, space grey, and yellow.

The device will have 1GB of RAM but can be upgraded to as much as 128GB through a microSD card.

In terms of specifications, the Apple iPod Touch 6 will reportedly come out with an iOS 8.1.3 operating system, larger display, longer battery life, improved security features that include Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and also the Apple Pay.

The iPod Touch 6 will have an 8-megapixel iSight camera and shall also be waterproof just like the Apple Watch. It shall also be compatible with the iWatch.
