2016 Ford Bronco May Come Out Smaller and Not the Pickup Truck-Like Type SUV, And More Details!

Ford Motor Company has yet to make an official statement to either confirm or deny the long rumored 2016 Ford Bronco.

While many have insisted that it was an April Fool’s Day joke since the report first came out on April 1, 2014, and that the website which first posted it, subsequently admitted that it was a hoax, the rumors still persisted.

Torque News recently slammed the so-called low rent automotive websites for jumping on the rumor and fabricating other news related to the 2016 Ford Bronco, which it said as totally fake.

In particular, the site claims that the initial report about the 2016 Ford Bronco whose design has been patterned allegedly after the Ford F-150 pickup truck is totally untrue. It also added that the supposed interviews of writers of these so-called low-rent websites with Ford personnel stating that the 2016 Ford Bronco is on its way are also fabricated and not true at all.

For the record, nobody from Ford has officially come out to make a statement about the supposed 2016 Ford Bronco from April 1 last year until today, almost one year after the supposed hoax came out.

Ford validates it?

However, just recently, Ford Motor Company had the term Bronco trademarked with the US Patent Office which somehow give credence to the news that it is indeed working on a new Bronco.

Torque News explained that the junk news sites used the trademark filing of Ford to validate their reports that there is a 2016 Ford Bronco alright and it is indeed coming very soon.

But the site contends that it is routine for automakers to trademark names and brands so that other companies will not be able to use them.

The site reiterated that Ford representatives have been saying all along that the Bronco SUV based on the F-150 pickup truck which came out with a lot of pictures in the internet already since last year is simply not in the works.

A smaller SUV

But it would really be illogical for Ford to have the Bronco name trademarked if it is not going to use it in the near future so it is almost sure that a new Bronco will be rolling out soon.

Even Torque News admitted in its report that the American motor company may indeed be working on a new Bronco but it is a different one from the one being pictured in what it described as low rent websites.

2016 ford bronco

There are reports from other websites suggesting that the 2016 Ford Bronco would be a modern take on the Bronco II which would mean that it would be a smaller SUV that would compete with the likes of the Jeep Renegade or the Jeep Wrangler. Qualifying its report further, Torque News actually believes that there is a new Bronco on the way but it is not going to be something like an SUV based on the F150 design but more like a small SUV patterned perhaps on the Edge and Escape.
