If you have ever had Eczema, then you know that it can be a major pain in the neck. You are itching, it seems to be spreading all over the body and you cannot seem to get any relief from it. There are many causes of Eczema, or dermatitis, is a mostly simple inflammation of the skin. Most that have it will tell you that it causes itchy and weeping crusty spots on your skin. It can affect your hands, face, arms, legs most of the time.

If the skin is cracked or opened and is weeping, it can cause a larger rash or in some cases a scar.
For some people it has been a passing problem that can be fixed by an ointment or even a sensitive skin lotion, but there is a group of people that have it so bad that they might miss work. Missing work for something like that might not seem normal, but the cases can get so severe that you are uncomfortable to work or do much of anything that day. In some cases, men and woman are taking sick days to head to a doctor to get their skin treated.
Missing work causes its own problems and that is where those workers are now hoping to get some relief that includes a better health care system. According to one doctor, most people do not look into how the Eczema can cause problems for the person that has it. The doctor started looking into how these cases were getting to frequent and he found that many patience were not happy with the treatment they were getting.
According to numbers that the doctor took from the National Center for Health Statistics, patience that ended up at the doctor office for Eczema paid more than $370 in out of pocket expenses and he wanted to find out why. That was back in 2010 and he said that the number jumped to $489 out of pocket by 2012. The main reason for the high costs is that it is hard to treat and for the most part is not going to be a one visit to the doctor situation.
