In the previous episode of The Blacklist Season 2 Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington is seen winning a fight against Berlin, rescuing his ex-wife in the process. However, Berlin is still at large, and the rivalry continues. Fans are looking forward to the third episode to gain insight into what is about to happen.
The episode began with Tom’s return. This was short lived as we realize soon after that it was a part of Liz’s dream. This could hint at Tom’s probable return to the series soon. Liz is still paranoid about someone tailing her and she is seen pulling out her gun on a random pedestrian, whom she suspects is following her.
Liz however needs to focus on the next case provided by Red. The lifeless body of Paul Wyatt was discovered with the heart carved out. Red suggested that this is the work of Dr. James Covington, a crooked surgeon who sells off people’s organs for cash in the black market.
Things get complicated further when it is revealed that Paul’s heart is not just stolen and sold but also repossessed after payments are defaulted upon. Liz along with Ressler tracks down the medical officer who is dealing with Covington and the henchman transporting the heart.
They set up a trap to bring the henchman into their grasp but after a wild chase the henchman meets with a road accident. Red, on the other hand, is plagued by issues of his own. In the impending war against Berlin, Red increases his investments on the Indonesian border while trying to gain access to an important government contract.
However, when some of the associates accept Berlin’s offer, Red is forced to take matters into his hands. He then reunites with Liz and helps her out with the pending case. Liz found a few incriminating proof against one of Dr. Covington’s clients and Red pays him a visit to ‘convince’ him to help Liz.
Towards the end of the episode, we see Red paying a visit to his ex-wife. He had spoken to her once after rescuing her, and she greets him with a slap. However, the next episodes promise to explore their relationship in detail.
