Jared Leto has been making some headlines lately including one about how he spent $5 million an old military base in the Hollywood hills. This week, it looks like the actor that is set to play the Joker in the Suicide Squad, is in the news because of his role. That role, one that was played so perfectly by Heath Ledger back in the day, is apparently making him gain weight. The actor claims that he is having to eat a lot of food to prepare for the role, which has not been easy for him.
Even though eating way more food than he is used to is not that easy for him, he says that is not going to stop him from playing the part. Fans of Jared Leto know that he has always been quite skinny and some sources are suggesting that the weight gain is coming from Warner Bros. Studios. Apparently, the studio wants him to gain weight so that he resembles wait Ledger left behind the last time he played the Joker.
Heath Ledger was not very muscular, but was also not what most would consider “skinny”. Jared Leto was asked about his role in the movie and what it might be like to fill the shoes of Heath Ledger. The first thing he talks about is gaining the extra weight. Claiming that he has to “eat every couple of hours” and how that is not that easy for him to accomplish.
Jared Leto says that the Joker is a “beautiful disaster” of a character and that he will be a challenging role to fill. Of course the next question is about the movie itself, but Jared Leto kept quiet and did not reveal anything worth talking about in regards to the new movie. Rumors that have been growing from fansites suggest that the Joker is locked up the entire movie, while other claim he is out and planting bombs all over the city.
The Suicide Squad is going to feature some other big names including Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Echantress and Viola Davis and Amanda Waller. That cast is a very good one and should compliment Jared Leto’s Joker in more ways than one. it will be interesting how the studio puts the movie and which character is focused on more, which is something typical of these types of movies.
