While it is already confirmed that Apple will be shipping out the Apple Watch in April, the American tech giant may seem to have another ace up in its sleeve regarding the smart wearable.
The company has just sent out invitations to a mystery event which it calls “Spring Forward” to be held in San Francisco, California on March 9.
Spring forward of course refers to clocks in the US that will advance one hour the day before the daylight saving time, which also means that the March 9 event shall pretty much dwell on the Apple Watch, cites The Australian.
Speculations are rife that the “Spring Forward” event will be the opportunity for Apple CEO Tim Cook to finally let everyone in on the full details of the iWatch, as many started calling it. In September 2014, during the launch of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, Tim Cook simply announced that Apple was already working on the smart wearable and will be launching the device very soon.
Full-blast promotions
It now appears that Apple is going on a full-blast promotion campaign for the Apple Watch as a few days ago, Vogue fashion magazine has revealed that the company has taken in 12 pages worth of advertisements on its March issue just to feature the smart wearable.
Media sources and analysts believe that the “Spring Forward” event will also be simultaneous to the release of Vogue’s March issue and complement initiatives to tell the whole world about all the key features of the Apple Watch.
The American tech company obviously needs to drumbeat the Apple Watch since it is actually the first new product type from Apple after the iPad that was launched in 2010.
Based on the preview of some of its advertisements in the upcoming March issue of Vogue magazine, the Apple Watch will actually come in two different sizes and three different versions.
The three versions include a stainless steel standard model, a rubber-banded aluminum sport model, and an 18-karat gold edition version.
Apple has initially indicated that the retail price in the US of its Apple Watch is $349 which could be for its standard model alone. The other variants including the 18-karat gold edition will obviously be priced higher.
Huge potentials
Despite its rather prohibitive retail price, analysts predict a potential huge market for the Apple Watch given the surging popularity of wearable electronic devices these days.
Many tech companies actually expect the Apple Watch to be sold out a few weeks or months after its release because it has already been anticipated by many users. The fact that it is also from Apple means that it is reliable.
Another key feature of the Apple Watch other than checking the time and date is its health and fitness monitor apps, which makes it really a potentially vibrant and dynamic new product.
