Serena Williams and Common might have officially separated, but it seems that there’s more to the couple’s story than they’re letting the public know, as there have recently been some reports of the two being spotted together at an afterparty, following Common’s Oscar win. While there haven’t been any reports of the two getting back together yet, they did seem quite friendly around each other at the party, according to people who’ve had a chance to see them personally.
Common won in the category for Best Original Song for “Glory” with John Legend, and he went on to celebrate through the night at an after-Oscars party at the Vanity Fair. There, people took pictures of him sharing his Oscar statuette with Serena Williams, obviously in quite the friendly fashion. Is something happening between them right now, or this just a good display between two people who’ve shared a history together?
For all it’s worth, Serena Williams seemed quite excited about the event, as she posted a picture of the special moment on her Instagram account, with the caption “Tried to run with this Common’s Oscar, but got caught!!”
The playfulness can even be felt in the Instagram post, so there might definitely be a deeper story to the picture than we’re seeing right now. Of course, knowing the nature of celebrity rumors, particularly around Hollywood, if there really is something going on there, it won’t be long before we find out about it.
Furthermore, the picture was deleted not long after it was posted – did Serena Williams change her mind, or did she have a talk with Common about it in which he was not pleased? Both are possible, and many people seem to be convinced of the latter. In the end, what happens between the two is their business, but many fans on both sides were happy with how the couple were turning out, and subsequently disappointed at their break-up.
It would indeed be happy news for many people if the two end up getting back together, but looking at the current situation, chances seem a bit slim. In any case, there will probably be a little extra attention on both of them for a while now after this event, both from fans as well as paparazzi. According to some, this could very well be the reason why the picture was taken down – it’s possible that the two are trying to get back together indeed, but don’t want to make it too public yet, so they’re trying to keep a low profile and changed their mind about posting that picture.
