While we didn’t know exactly what HTC have been cooking up with the One M9, pretty much everyone was convinced that the device is going to be something big. After all, the One M8 is easily one of the most notable phones in the Android market, and reviewers keep praising it for the great balance of features and price that HTC have managed to pack inside the device. And now, we’ve just seen a leak of some information about the device – and from what we’re seeing, it’s going to be a winning entry into the market for HTC.
The leaks came in the form of several promotional videos which show quite a lot about the device, confirming that HTC have upgraded its camera, both in the front as well as in the back, while also showing off the phone’s Dolby Surround Sound capabilities. This is not just a smartphone, this is a multimedia powerhouse, and HTC have done a lot of work to make the device as impressive as possible to media loves.
There have also been upgrades to Sense, and we got to see some of them in the video as well, including the ability to customize themes, and a widget that displays apps based on location, giving the device a proximity-based launcher. The new built-in photo editor offers various effects like double exposure and easy sharing capabilities.
While the videos showed various upgrades to the phone’s software, we’re still not quite sure about the hardware that powers this beautiful device, but there are rumors that it will be one of the phones to use the new Snapdragon 810. After all, the HTC One M8 was one of the most powerful smartphones in the Android market (and it still is in some ways), so it only makes sense to give the M9 the best of the best when it comes to hardware.
The videos are a bit difficult to find right now, as the original sources have been removed, although the Internet is buzzing with screenshots showing the most important features. Actually, it might be simpler to just look at the screenshots instead of going through the videos, as they usually skip the “boring” parts and cut right to the interesting bits, namely the new details about the upgraded software.
HTC have something big coming up, and their fans are right to be as excited as they’ve been so far – when the One M9 comes out, other companies on the Android market will have a very serious competitor in their faces. Of course, not everyone is looking to buy such a powerful Android phone, but there are definitely plenty of buyers in this particular market niche.
