Kendall Jenner, one of America’s hottest young models today, wants to distance herself from the Kardashian name both physically and figuratively.
The 19-year-old stepsister of the Kardashian sisters is planning to move to London and do modelling for several British clothes companies and high street stores.
According to a source close to the young model, Kendall is desperate to get away from the ‘crazy’ family and wants to be her own in London.
She has been very vocal about her desire not to be identified with the Kardashian name, which she feels is already too dysfunctional for her and her image. In fact, she has previously prevented her most famous stepsister Kim Kardashian from watching or supporting her during her modelling gigs by sitting in the front row.
The source told a US magazine that Kendall simply wants to focus on her modelling work and get out from the Kardashian umbrella, which is a good career move for the 19-year-old model.
Disoriented about family
Another reason why Kendall Jenner wants to shed the Kardashian name to her image is the fact that her father Bruce Jenner is reportedly transitioning to a woman.
The source said that the model appears perplexed over the transition that her father is currently undergoing and she simply does not want to be part of it.
As a matter of fact, the model has also dropped her Jenner surname from her stage name as she prefers to be called simply as Kendall.
Unlike the Kardashians who literally crave for attention and popularity, Kendall has worked her way to become one of today’s hottest young models based on her own merits. She is not the type who would make a big fuss out of everything she does on a daily basis the way her Kardashian stepsisters do because they are all reality stars.
It is likely that Kendall might bring along her younger sister Kylie, as the two of them have recently signed a modelling deal with British high street store Topshop to release a range of clothes, reports Yahoo! News.
Well-connected
Kendall is very much known these days in the fashion modelling circuit. She has already walked for key designers including Karl Lagerfeld and March Jacobs.
Her plan to move across the pond is backstopped by her strong network and connections in London. She has strong links in the British capital that is why she and her sister Kylie were able to forge a modelling deal in the country.
If she moves to London soon, Kendall would not really feel lost or disoriented in the place since most of her best friends are based in London including Cara Delevigne.
Kendall has already been talking to her friends and model pals about the ins and outs of London or tips on the best place to live there. The source close to the model said that she is planning to go to London in March to do some house hunting and prepare her eventual transposition from the US to London soon.
