“Phablet” devices, or handhelds that fall somewhere between phones and tablets in terms of size, have been gaining popularity in some parts of the world – and companies like Samsung have been doing a fine job at filling that market niche with plenty of good offers that have been attracting buyer attention for some time now.
And for those who’ve had their eyes on the Galaxy Note 4, now might be the perfect time to go for the device – Amazon are now offering the phone for just $199.99, $100 lower than what Sprint are offering for a 2-year contract. Of course, Amazon’s deal is also bound to a contract for a 2-year period, but considering the savings, it’s definitely a better offer than what Sprint have right now.
The Galaxy Note 4 offers a 5.7 inch AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution (2560×1440), and a lightning fast 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, as well as a dedicated Adreno 420 graphics processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a microSD slot that allows a user to expand the device’s storage up to 128 GB.
In addition, the phone has a camera with a 16 megapixel sensor and HDR support, and a 3.7 megapixel camera in the front, perfect for crystal clear video calls and selfies for social media. The one downside to the device for some users is that it comes with Android 4.4 KitKat, although Samsung have promised to update it to Android 5.0 Lollipop at some point soon. The company hasn’t given an exact release date however, and it’s worth noting that they can be slow with releasing Android updates for their devices, as they often make lots of changes to the firmware.
It’s also a great phone for health-conscious users, as it offers an integrated heart rate and UV sensor, and its battery can give it plenty of usage time, even when actively tracking a sports activity with GPS or something along those lines. The phone is great for taking notes too, as its stylus can significantly simplify the process of writing down longer texts.
For all of this, a price of $199.99 is basically a steal and a fantastic offer from Amazon, so interested buyers should go for it while it lasts. The phone definitely has a lot of life left in it, and a device with these specifications will easily stay relevant for at least another couple of years. Of course, phone specifications are changing fast, and by this time next year we’ll have some significantly more powerful devices on the market, but the hardware packed in the Galaxy Note 4 is not to be underestimated either.
