British luxury sports car maker Aston Martin will be rolling off a limited edition of its powerful and sleek-looking Vantage GT3 race car in the Geneva Motor Show to be held in Switzerland next month.
Aston Martin claims that the Vantage GT3 has been redesigned and remodelled from the ground up and now offers luxury sports car enthusiasts the latest in race-car technology, while continuing the excellent Aston Martin driving experience, making it James Bond’s favorite car too.
The Vantage GT3 features a lightweight V12 engine that generates a maximum power of 591 horsepower. The superb power under its hood actually beats all other Aston Martin luxury sports cars that are also fitted with V12 engines including the Vantage S, reports Superyachts.com.
The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 can actually go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 miles per hour.
A balance of performance
Aston Martin has designed the GT3 car model in 2012 which would be good for the next five years. So the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for 2015, which is part of the same family model of luxury sports cars, no longer has expensive yearly updates that most carmakers put on their new models.
The only major improvement if there was one is its V12 engine which is now developed to obtain that balance of performance.
The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has proven its mettle as a sports car since it was officially released in 2012. During that year, it has recorded two championship wins, 18 race wins, and 30 podium finishes in various racing circuits around the world.
The following year, it has also achieved overall pole positions, race wins, podium finishes and fastest lap finishes in many races all around the world.
Very light structure
Typical of all Aston Martin luxury sports car, the Vantage GT3 also makes use of bonded aluminum chassis to create a light but very strong frame structure.
Combined with a shorter wheel base and lower engine position, these result to improved handling and performance on the race track. With new safety features including the anti-lock braking and traction control systems, maneuverability is further enhanced.
Also keeping the weight of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 to a minimum is the use of carbon fiber, magnesium torque tube, a full titanium exhaust system, a lithium-ion battery, and polycarbonate windows.
The Vantage GT3 comes with the Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission that complements its racing clutch, limited slip ramp and plate differential, and semi-automatic paddle shift gear change. It also features a carbon fiber propshaft.
In terms of interiors, the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has an Alcantara trim, a race-derived carbon fiber sports seat, and touch-sensitive controls.
The British carmaker discloses that the Vantage GT3 is currently limited to 100 models and that it will not be made available in the North America and China.
