A few days ago, Bandai Namco has announced the release of “Tekken 7” to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One within the year, which had fans and gamers excited over the ninth installment of the fighting video game.
While “Tekken 7” has yet to officially hit the gaming consoles, the developer has already confirmed that it is now busy with the development of the 10th installment of the video game to be known as “Tekken X Street Fighter.”
KpopStarz has hinted that the game might be released also on the PS4 and the Xbox One within two years time. So it could be late next year or early in 2016.
No less than Katsuhiro Harada, game director and chief producer of the “Tekken” video game series confirmed the report that has been the subject of years of speculations and rumors in international gaming communities.
Surprise release date
Apart from confirming that “Tekken X Street Fighter” is under way and now in development phase, Harada said that the game might actually be released later than it was previously planned.
Harada said that the company might find it difficult to release the game on its previous target date but they might also pull of a surprise by rolling it out earlier just to jolt the gamers and the fans who have been waiting and talking about the game for a long time already.
He said that since “Tekken X Street Fighter” has been widely anticipated, it would not create much ripple than it truly deserves if it is just released normally so Bandai Namco might really spring a surprise.
More games in the works
The Bandai Namco game director also disclosed that in addition to “Tekken X Street Fighter,” he and his team are also busy working on as many new games as possible.
Harada said that like in technology, time flies so fast in the world of gaming so he would like to make the most of it by never stopping on continuously working on the development of new games.
He explained that the “Tekken” video game franchise has been around for 20 years which is just about the time when he has been with the company.
The 44-year-old Harada said that his wife recently gave birth to their first child which changed his perspective in life.
He said that when he started developing games for Bandai Namco 20 years ago, he thought that he would continue to do so until almost forever. But after having been a father recently, he realized and felt that he only had about 20 more years to do so not the longer time he was projecting himself to do back then.
With that thought in mind, he buckled down to work and decided to do more games for Bandai Namco from then on. So expect more new games from the game development company in the next couple of years.
