What’s Coming in House of Cards Season 3? Plot Summaries for Episodes Revealed, New Teaser Is Out!

Netflix have made a bit of a big mistake recently, as they accidentally leaked the upcoming third season of “House of Cards”. The season was made available on the streaming service in its entirety, and it was actually ready for streaming – various fans of the show were able to watch the first episode almost until the end (as the season was taken down in about half an hour), and news about plot details started spreading like wildfire.

Meanwhile, the plot descriptions for all new episodes have been revealed, so we can get some idea about what’s coming in the new season. Keep in mind that the below paragraphs contain various potential spoilers for the upcoming episodes, but on the other hand, those plot summaries are typically written in a way that doesn’t reveal much of the actual plot, so they should be safe for the most part.

In the beginning of the season, Frank Underwood will try to push forward a new program for jobs, while Claire is aiming for the United Nations. Something will apparently go wrong, judging by the episode’s description of a “rocky start” for the new presidency. This becomes clearer in the second episode, when Claire’s bid is in danger of falling through, while Frank is facing some problems of his own, which he tries to resolve by coming up with an address to the nation.

We’ll see the Russian President making a visit to the country during episode three as well, and it seems like the meeting won’t go over too nicely. Claire will subsequently try to go around Russia at the U.N, as Frank is trying to defeat a potential adversary, only to face an even greater threat.

This will culminate around the middle of the season with Frank declaring war on Congress, in order to give a bigger push to his new jobs program, and Claire will be in talks with Russia’s Ambassador, which will apparently not go over that smoothly.

Around the end of the season, natural disaster will play into the story as well, as a hurricane will pose a serious threat for Frank’s position, forcing him to make a tough choice. Claire will then run into some information which she’ll go over with Frank, and at the end of the season, there will be peace-keeping talks while Frank is handling negotiations with Petrov. There will have to be some sacrifices, as the plot summary says, but it’s not clear what those will be, or how they will reflect on the future of the story. One thing is pretty obvious though – the new season of the show is really going to shake things up for everyone.
